Oryx Safety Group for Construction Risks

The Oryx Safety Group is a loss sensitive insurance program that enables employers in the construction industry to pool their insurance premiums with the goal of reducing the cost of workers' compensation insurance. The group is defined by those risks engaged in construction activities that have demonstrated above average workers' compensation loss ratios.

The Safety Group provides small and medium sized employers the opportunity to participate in the type of program that is usually reserved for larger employers. Risks will have in place written safety procedures and measures that are monitored and enforced by the management of the insured. These safety group members will work closely with Oryx Loss Control personnel and immediately address any recommendations made by Oryx. The members will also work closely with Oryx Claims Division with regards to reporting, communication, light duty opportunities and implementing return to work programs.

The Oryx Safety Group program is a fully insured plan. Safety group members can never be assessed for additional premiums beyond their earned premiums for a given policy year. There is no exposure to joint and several liability, as is the case with self insured programs. That makes our safety group program truly safe for the employer from both a financial and an insurance standpoint.
